Jonathan Bracho-Cooke, formerly of 884 Signal Troop, commissioned into the Duke of Lancasters Regiment died in February 2007 in Iraq as a result of injuries sustained by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack against his patrol in the As Sarraji District of Basra City.

Sean Reeve of 63 (SAS) Squadron Royal Signals (also former 884 Troop) was killed in June 2008 alongside two other SAS reservists and Cpl Sarah Bryant of the Intelligence Corp during operations east of Lashkar Gah Afghanistan after the vehicle in which they were travelling was caught in an explosion.
