265 (Kent and County of London Yeomanry) Signal Squadron, 71st (Yeomanry) Signal Regiment

In the 1967 reorganisation the former KCLY regimental headquarters at Bromley became the headquarters of a new regiment, the London and Kent Regiment.  This lasted only 2 years and 265 Squadron then became the HQ Squadron of the newly formed 71st (Yeomanry) Signal Regiment

The initial role of the Squadron was to provide individual radio detachments for deployment to field location anywhere in the UK. They would have provided post-strike communications in the event of a nuclear attack.
