CVR/T Vehicles
To support the sabre troops using the Fox armoured cars, a number of tracked support vehicles was employed by C Squadron. First issued in 1984, they served on into the early1990s.
They were all based on the Alvis Combat Vehicle, Reconnaissance Tracked (CVR/T) chassis. The common parts made servicing easier and they proved robust and adaptable. The one drawback of these tracked vehicles was that they could create quite a lot of damage to farmland when on exercise when compared to the effect of wheeled vehicles. Reconnaissance became vital to make sure that our hosts could cope with an influx of weekend warriors.
