FV603 Saracen
C Squadron’s support troop was equipped with the Saracen armoured personnel carrier. It could carry ten fully equipped soldiers, plus the crew of two. The troop had five vehicles and there were two more in squadron headquarters.
The chassis and engine were identical to the Saladin and it weighed 10-tonnes. It was armed with a 7.62mm machine gun in a small turret derived from the Ferret scout car.
