Lieutenant Cloudsley Marsham saw war service with the Kent Yeomanry in France and the Middle East.
After the withdrawal to the Alamein Line in July 1942, Cloudsley was with the regiment when it was ordered into a defensive position at Deir El Shein. In the ensuing battle he was wounded and subsequently captured, ending up as a Prisoner of War in Italy.
