Sharpshooters at War

This book, with a forward by Field Marshal Montgomery and illustrated with both maps and photographs is the History of the 3rd, the 4th and the 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) during the Second World War. It covers the pre-war and early war period and all of the campaigns in which both Regiments were involved including their amalgamation in Normandy and the final push into Hamburg in 1945.

The Sharpshooters

The original edition of the regimental history published in 1970 to commemorate 50 years in armour. It has special sections on the uniform, badges and armoured vehicles used by the regiment. The author commanded the Sharpshooters and is the Curator of the Regimental Museum at Hever Castle.

The Sharpshooters 1900-2000

A new edition of the regimental history written by Boris Mollo in 1970 which brings the story up to date. There is important additional coverage of the last 30 years of C (Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron, The Royal Yeomanry (RY) and HQ and 265 (KCLY) Signal Squadrons of 71st Yeomanry Signal Regiment illustrating how well Sharpshooters have adapted to the changing demands of territorial soldiering in the second half of the 20th century. The book is fully illustrated from the impressive collection of photographs built up by the regimental museum including a large selection from the Boer War, World War I and of Major W H J Sale MBE MC for World War II.

The Kent Yeomanry

This book is an illustrated history of the Kent Yeomanry from the earliest days in 1794 through to 1961 when they amalgamated with the 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters). The book is profusely illustrated with photographs dating back to the 1860’s.

Villers-Bocage: The Truth Behind The Myth

Written and presented by Daniel Taylor the author, historian and expert on this famous battle that took place in the picturesque Normandy town of Villers- Bocage on 13th June 1944.

Daniel’s 50minute (approx.) film includes never before seen eye-witness accounts from veterans of the battle from the ‘Sharpshooters’, the Rifle Brigade and the Royal Horse Artillery, plus local French testimony that provides new insight into the most significant tank action of the Normandy Campaign.

The DVD was originally produced by The Association and is raising money for the new KSY Museum appeal.
