Photocopy of diary compiled by Major J.C.Bazzard MC, 97th (KY) Fd Regt RA, 1 Sept 1939 to 17 Oct 1945. Major Bazzard was mobilised as a gunner, commissioned in 1942 and ended the war as a Captain. He continued to serve after the war as a regular and was promoted to Major. Major Bazzard served in France 1939-40, Iraq 1942, Western Desert 1942-43, Italy 1944-45. He was awarded the MC in Italy in Dec 1944. The diary includes many photographs some of which have been scanned from the originals. has been transcribed by Major Bazzard from his original notes made at the time.
