Armoured Cars

Humber Scout as issued to armoured regiments in NW Europe including both Sharpshooter regiments.

Humber Scout Car

There was insufficient capacity at Daimler to meet demand for scout cars so Humber were asked to build their own version ‘Dingo’ based on their successful Heavy Utility chassis.

Though it had a crew of two, a third crewmember could be added if necessary

Characteristics were similar to the Dingo, though armour protection was thinner.

As with the Dingo the role was liaison and communications.

The Humber Scout was withdrawn from front line service from 1945.
