The Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry exist within the British Army as 2 distinctive squadrons in separate regiments of the Territorial Army. These are as follows:
C (Kent & Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Sqn, The Royal Yeomanry
The Royal Yeomanry is a Light Cavalry Regiment equipped with RWMIK (Land Rover Re-life Weapons Mounted Installation Kit). The unit is roled to provide a strategically deployable light reconnaissance capability which is employable across a wide range of operations from Peace Support Operations through to stabilisation interventions, to enabling roles in major combat operations.
The squadron is based at Sharpshooter House, Mitcham Road Barracks Croydon.
265 (Kent and County of London Yeomanry (SHARPSHOOTERS)) Support Squadron (Volunteers), 71st (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment (Volunteers)
265 (Kent & County of London Yeomanry (SHARPSHOOTERS)) Support Squadron), 71st (Yeomanry) Signal Regiment is a multi-cap-badged Support Squadron for 71st (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment (Volunteers). 265 Sp Sqn (V) provides combat services support to the signal Squadrons and Regimental Headquarters on exercise and on Operations and the Squadron is co-located with regimental headquarters in Bexleyheath. 265 Sp Sqn (V)’s is one of 3 Squadrons that make up for 71st (City of London) Yeomanry Signal Regiment (Volunteers). The Squadron is based at the TA Centre, Watling Street, Bexleyheath.
