Saladin transformed

Taking advantage of a rare four-day window of dry weather, Museum volunteers Michael Achow and Peter Crowley recently began our outdoor-exhibits conservation programme by restoring the Saladin armoured car.  Rust and loose paint were removed and treated with anti-rust primer before two complete coats of NATO green satin paint were added.

It is hoped that this exercise will (quite apart from improving the appearance of the vehicle) protect it from further deterioration for several years.

If you are able to help with the conservation of the 25-pdr. field gun, please let the Curator know (curator@ksymuseum.org. uk).  It is hoped to undertake this next step in the programme as soon as possible. Later in the year, we are also planning to erect an Anderson shelter outside the museum - again, please let the Curator know if you would like to be involved.
