Saturday 10 October 2015, at 1100

KSY Museum, Hever Castle, TN8 7NG

The new Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum was opened on 6 September 2015 by HRH Princess Alexandra. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we provide not only a great new museum, which will inspire visitors of all ages, but also a great program of activities.

On Saturday 10 October, from 1100-1400, we are pleased to be hosting a military antiques roadshow, where the public is invited to bring along any interesting military items (medals, diaries, photographs, etc), for discussion and possible valuation by Richard Black and Roan Hackney of the London Medal Company, plus amateur experts from the Museum trust.

This will be followed at 1500 by a talk by Dr Patrick Mileham and Professor Ian Beckett, on “the spirit of the Yeomanry”, capturing the fascinating history of part time volunteer soldiers from Kent, the County of London, and across the UK, from 1794 to the present day.

Entrance to the event is free, so long as you have received a ticket no later than 1700 on Friday 9 October. Tickets can be obtained in person at LeGrys estate agency on Edenbridge High Street, or by email at tickets@ksymuseum.org.uk.

Please note that these free tickets do NOT include general access to Hever Castle and Grounds, apart from the Museum and lecture room.

Alternatively, you can join the event by purchasing a standard ticket to Hever Castle and Grounds on the day of the event.

Look out for further events at the museum in the coming months, on our website www.ksymuseum.org.uk!
