Data Protection
The Sharpshooters Yeomanry Association is a Registered Charity. This site is
run voluntarily by David Hannam on behalf of the Committee primarily to inform
the membership that operates within the Association.
There is no occasion where any information contained in the site, particularly
email addresses, would be provided to any other organisation without permission
of individual members. If any person, referred to in this site requires to have
their details amended or removed, they should contact in the first instance
David Hannam at dhvp@sharpshooters.org.uk.
All mistakes, errors and omissions are regretable, but we would ask members
and visitors to remember that we are doing this with the express aim of communicating
effectively - all work on the site is unpaid and voluntary.
The site is hosted by Easyspace a well known Internet Presence Provider. Their
website can be found at http://www.easyspace.co.uk.
There is no evidence to suggest that they are anything other than well run and
they were selected on functionality and commercial grounds. We have no control
over Easyspace systems and procedures.
We have investigated the requirements for the Association and there is no need
to notify the Data Protection Registrar under the Data Protection Act 1998 that
came into force on 1st March 2000. In any event our aim is to comply with the
8 Data Protection Principles enshrined in law, even if we may not be required
to notify the Data Protection Registrar as an exempt not for profit organisation.
The principles have been copied from the Data Protection site run by Her Majestys
Stationery Office http://www.hmso.gov.uk/.
We do not believe that we hold any sensitive data as defined in the Act and
very little personal data.
