The Treasurer


After the end of World War 2, Derrick Mullens rejoined his family form, Mullens and Co, which is now part of UBS (Union Bank of Switzerland). Up until “Big Bang” in the City of London in the 1980s, Mullens and Co were the government brokers, raising money for the Bank of England.

He went on to become High Sherriff of Surrey, and Treasurer of the newly created University of Surrey at Guildford. Opposite is a portrait of Derrick in academic robes

Derrick served as Honorary Colonel of the newly merged Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry, from19xx to 1974. He died in 1975
