The Museum

HRH Princess Alexandra at the official opening of the museum, 6th September 2015

The Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry has had a museum in three locations. In 1965 it opened at Squerryes Court, Westerham.  Then in 1985 it moved to the top of the keep at Hever Castle.  In 2015 it was relocated to this purpose built buidling in the grounds of Hever Castle.

HRH Princess Alexandra officially opened the museum both in 1985 and again in 2015.

The trustees of the Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry Museum Trust, a registered charity, own the contents of the museum and are responsible for the displays. The building has been provided by Hever Castle Ltd.

We are determined to make our museum a fantastic, accessible asset for our people of all ages – our regimental family, local schools and the community, together of course for visitors to the castle and grounds.

Our aim is to inspire visitors of all ages with the life and story of the regiment in war and peace, and the communities it serves.
