The Royal Yeomanry 2000- Iraq (Op Telic) 2003-2009
Op Telic began with the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 and ended in ended in April 2009 The first KSY members to be called up were attached to the Joint NBC Regiment. Once the main fighting had ended without any use of NBC weapons they were used for Internal Security.
In 2004, 32 KSY members were mobilised and attached to the Queen’s Royal Lancers where they formed an exclusively KSY Troop. Thereafter KSY involvement was restricted to a few individuals each year.
